Why can’t I trade tiny fractions of gold profitably?

Gold trades are subject to rounding. At very small quantities (like one-millionth of an ounce), rounding means you might pay more than the gold is worth when buying and receive nothing when selling. These transactions are uneconomic, so we recommend trading in more meaningful amounts.
